For anyone who runs a local business, but who hasn't ever used the internet to market that business, this book is a goldmine.

The author makes a very strong case for how important the internet is, even for local businesses, small mom-and-pop operations, etc, and more importantly, presents a very large number of different ways that the internet can be used to help a local business reach more people. The process is very systematic, but also flexible: for example, if you want to focus more on search engine marketing and less on ezine marketing as a way of getting people to your business' website, you can easily do that. The author discusses all kinds of different ways to get people to your site, and then a bunch of other ways to actually convert those visitors in to customers.

The only minor complaint I had about the book is that I wished some of the specific sections on different marketing tactics was a little longer. I don't think that this is a huge deal, because each marketing method is given several pages, and is more than enough to get you started, but if possible it would've been nice. That being said, the author discusses 14 different marketing methods, so I can understand why she wouldn't write an encyclopedia on each one.

Overall I thought that this book was great. For people like me, who run local-based businesses that don't traditionally use the internet very much, I think that this book is an absolute goldmine.
